Mammoth Lakes Real Estate Week-in-Review | 24 August 2024
Fall is Around the Corner in Eastern Sierra
We are getting a taste of fall as our temps dip down. According to Weather .com it is going to be 28° tonight. Brrrrrrr! It is raining in town and snowing on Mammoth Mountain. Thankfully the temperatures will climb again next week. There are still so many fun things to do this summer before the snow really starts to fly. Use the list below to plan another weekend in Mammoth.
My brother and a friend came to stay last weekend and we had a blast. I rarely take weekends off as that is when clients are in town but I made an exception. We swam in June Lake, swam in Arrowhead Lake, paddle boarded on June Lake, hiked up to McLeod, eBiked around the Lakes Basin, went to Shakespeare’s The Merry Wives of Windsor (with the most stunning Sierra Wave above the actors), went bowling, had a picnic and had dinner at the Brasserie. What a weekend. Some photos below.

We’re still solidifying much of the exact schedule, but I’ve attached our general information flyer. DSES is covering all programs, lunch, two dinners, and a goodbye breakfast. Lodging and transportation are self-provided (we have a discount code to Mammoth Outbound for lodging). Cost to attend is $200, with scholarships available.’ Click [here](mailto:mtoomey@disabledsportseasternsierra.org?subject=Info%20on%20the%20upcoming%20Women%27s%20Camp) to email for more info.
Fall is around the corner and the Eastern Sierra has some great fall colors. We are starting to see some of the greens turn yellow and we expect the reds and oranges starting mid-September. Here is the Mono County Fall Colors webpage with tons of resources to help you plan a trip to see them.
Mammoth Lakes Real Estate Update
On August 15th the new rules from the National Association of Realtors Settlement came into effect. These are early days and so we are all trying to work out what it all means. On thing we do know is that before any realtor can show property the agent and the buyers need to sign the Buyer Representation and Broker Compensation Agreement or the BRBC. Previously we could show property without a written agreement but this is now required nationwide prior to any showings. If you are interested in seeing the document let me know and I can send you the PDF. As we understand more the ramifications of the Settlement I hope to be able to send more information. After all, knowledge is power.
Our market remains a seller’s market and well priced properties are still seeing multiple offers but prices have improved. The Fed is talking about lowering the rates again and that will be very welcome. Of the new properties that came on the market in the last week or so here are my favorites.
