Opening Day on Mammoth Mountain
It’s snowing and within an hour Mammoth Mountain will open for its 71st season. Festivities start at 7:30 with coffee and cocoa.
The lifts will start spinning at 8:30. The first 100 people in line will get the new 2024/25 Mammoth Beanie. Expected lifts include the Lower Panorama Gondola, Face Lift Express (3), Discovery Express (11) and Unbound Express (6). The Upper Panorama Gondola will be open for scenic rides 11/15-17. Trails expected for Opening Day include Broadway, Saddle Bowl, Silver Tip and Rusty’s.
At 11:00 AM head to the Tusks sundeck for a toast to the season and enjoy a small complimentary beer or sparkling cider. The dance to the Tim Apple Band who will be playing 11:15-3:00.
The Mountain Coaster at Woolly’s Adventure Summit will open 11/15-17 and then daily 11/22-30.
A few things to keep in mind…. the roads are slippery so drive with caution. The bears are out so be on the look out for them. It is early in the season and obstacles exist on the Mountain. Stay on the marked trails…. no-one wants to get injured, especially so early in the season.
