Mammoth Lakes Real Estate Week-in-Review | 19 April 2024
Mammoth Spring Skiing
Spring skiing is in full swing. The days are warming up and soon we will be skiing in t-shirts. Chair 1 (Broadway Express) out of Main Lodge has been shut down so construction can start on a new 6-pack chair to replace the existing 4-pack. It should be ready to go for next ski season. The closure impacts some of the trails above Main Lodge. This is the last weekend that Eagle Lodge is open. Canyon Lodge will then re-open for the weekend of April 26-28, with Schoolyard Express (17) open for skier access. The Tube Park at Woolly’s Adventure Summit, Tamarack Cross-Country Ski Center, and Snowmobile Adventures are now CLOSED for the season. Skiing out of Main Lodge and The Mill is due to continue at least until Memorial Day, May 27th. While there is still lots of skiing still to be had, it is also time to dust off the bikes and hiking boots, and get the paddle boards ready. Yesterday I rode from the Green Church out to Brown Camp Ground and it was gorgeous and perfect temperatures. One of my favorite things about spring and summer in the Eastern Sierra is being able to have multi-sport days… ski in the AM, paddle board at lunch time and get a bike ride in before dinner. Heaven!

Mammoth Lakes Real Estate Update
Short Term Rental Moratorium Lifting Tomorrow
Tomorrow, Monday, April 22nd the moratorium on new short-term rental (STR) permits is lifting. This means that if your property is zoned for STRs and your CC&Rs allow for them, then you can apply for an STR permit. In Mammoth most condos are eligible for STR, and most houses are not.
Mammoth Lakes Market Update
Our market continues to be strong. There was a slow-down in sales because of the moratorium on new short term rental permits but as that is being lifted tomorrow, we are seeing sales increase. We are still in a seller’s market and properties that come on the market and are priced properly are seeing multiple offers and end up selling over the asking price. Below are the number of houses and condos on the market today in Mammoth, Crowley and June.
