Mammoth Lakes Real Estate Week-in-Review | 10 May 2024

End of Ski Season is Around the Corner

Mammoth Mountain has announced that they will be closing winter operations at the end of the day on May 27th. Summer operations on the Mountain are going to start on May 24th. On that day the Bike Park opens with limited trails, Sierra Star Golf Course opens and the Adventure Center starts offering rock climbing, junior zip line, etc…

Spring is Here

Even though it snowed for a moment today, the temps are going to be in the 70s next week. Spring may finally be here! Time to get out the bikes, paddle boards and hiking boots.

Speaking of bikes… two weekends ago my friend Annemarie and I cycled the Tioga Pass (Hwy 120) to Ellery Lake, just outside of Yosemite. The road is closed to cars and so we had it all to ourselves. It was quite a climb!

Watch out for Bears and Deer

The bears are awake and looking for food. Remember not to leave anything edible in your car. The local bear in my neighborhood opened five cars the other night. Thankfully he didn’t cause any damage other than taking a bite out of one center console. He didn’t get into my car, but he did cruise around the outside of the house. Photos below. The deer are on the move and migration is in full swing.
