Embracing Winter's End
It’s snowing again! Overnight we received a good 6”+. The lows have been in the teens and so the snow is light and fluffy. That is always welcome because it makes shoveling the cars out so much easier. It is supposed to snow a few more inches today with the low this evening dipping down to 5°. Brrrrrrr!!
It’s that time of year…. The bears are waking up and showing up in town. On April 1st I had my first bear sighting for the year. A beauty just hanging out near Meridian and Minaret. See photo below. Please remember they are wild animals and give them their space.
Many of the services at Mammoth, June and Tamarack are closing in the next week or so. Snowmobile Adventures closes this Sunday. June Mountain, Tamarack and Woolly’s Adventure Summit, along with Chair 1 all close April 14. Canyon and Eagle lodges remain open until April 21 and then Canyon will likely reopen the last weekend of April during Fishmas Eve and Fishmas weekend (Eastern Sierra Lakes fishing opener for those of you not familiar with the lingo). Main Lodge will have modified operations through Memorial Day, and maybe even longer, if Stump Alley can stay open. My friend Kathy and I went and skated at the LA Kings new skating rink. So fun. Check it out if you can.

If you are a fisher-person and would like me to send you a postcard with all of the fishing event dates for the Eastern Sierra, just respond to this email with your mailing address. Our market continues to be strong. In March 18 condos and 8 houses closed escrow. As of this typing there are 57 condos and 13 houses on the market in Mammoth. 1 condo and 5 houses on the market in June Lake and 1 condo and 2 houses available in Crowley Lake.
